MORE THAN 200 YEARS OF HISTORY

1816 - THE STORY STARTS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF A FILM

The Bishop of Perpignan and civil engineer Raymond Etienne Amiel are gambling. The Bishop, perhaps short of money, decides to bet one of his properties, known as Domaine de Goudous. Luck isn’t on his side, his property changes hands, becoming the acquisition of the engineer. The property extends across 80 hectares, 10 of which are planted with vines.

1907 - THE EXPANSION OF MAS AMIEL

Charles Dupuy and his family took over the propriety and developed the wine cellar and the technics to make great sweet wines.

1999 - OLIVIER DECELLE JOINS MAS AMIEL ADVENTURE

Then, Olivier Decelle bought the Mas and launched a new ambition : create both sweet and dry wines
of international renown.

2017 - ORGANIC CERTIFICATION

The organic certification was achieved by the Mas Amiel and we started our conversion in biodynamic culture.

2019 - MAS AMIEL ENTRUST MR.WINE WITH THE US EXPORT MARKET

Present in more than 20 countries, Mas Amiel has acquired an international repution.

VINEYARD & TERROIR

Mas Amiel is located in Maury in the Roussillon ( South of France). The vineyard covers 150 hectars of vines with 130 plots. Schist is the most emblematic terroir of the Mas Amiel. The star of the vineyard is the Grenache ( 50 % of the production).

They are working with a biodynamic culture to ensure the harmony of the nature and obtain grapes of high quality.

The harvest is entirely by hand to preserve all the quality of the grapes. The annual production is around 400 000 bottles per vintage. 50 % for the dry wines and 50 % for the fortified wines.
